Busy Weekend

This is a picture of a clematis at the front of my house. They are absolutely gorgeous this year. People actually stop their cars to gaze at them!
Update on dogs and skunks…. Unbelievable, almost a week later and they still reek. Not as bad as they were, but still not particularly pleasant. So I’ve found a special shampoo that’s supposed to deal with the odour. I’ll let you know how it goes.
I spent some time on a rainy Saturday afternoon at the Toronto Small Press book fair this weekend - there was quite a turnout and small press in Toronto is thriving. Now I'm looking forward to attending Book Expo Canada next Monday.
Earlier on Saturday, I joined a group of people from the Toronto Photography Meet-up Group at St. Michael’s Cathedral in Toronto to try out my hand at indoor photography. I’ve been a point and shoot photographer up until now; but I’ve decided I want to produce better pictures. I’ve been experimenting with the manual functions on my old digital camera and wanted to put my new knowledge to the test. Well, I didn’t fail miserably but I certainly didn’t pass with flying colours. I still have a ways to go. Here's one picture that did come out - reminded me of the Da Vinci Code...

On Sunday I worked on the front garden putting down 3 bags of mulch around the strip that separates my house from the neighbour’s. It’s looking great.
